Competition Terms
Last updated: 6 August 2026
These terms apply to every competition and giveaway run inside the Keen app. The specifics of each competition (the prize, the event, the closing date and the draw date) are shown on the competition card in the app, and together with these terms they make up the conditions of entry. By entering, you accept both.
Competitions are run by Keen, operated under ABN 39 867 349 188, based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia ("the Promoter", "we", "us"). Entry is free, and no purchase or payment is ever required to enter or win.
1. Who can enter
Entry is open to Australian residents who hold a Keen account, meet Keen's minimum age of 16, and live in the city the competition is run in (shown on the competition card). If a prize involves an age-restricted event or venue, you must meet that event's age requirement to enter; where a winner is under 18, we may require a parent or guardian's consent before awarding the prize.
Keen's administrators, the people who work on Keen, and their immediate families can use the app and may appear in entrant lists, but are automatically excluded from every draw and cannot win.
2. How to enter
Enter through the competition card in the Keen app during the entry period shown on the card. Entering gives you one entry in the draw.
You can earn additional entries by inviting mates: when someone joins Keen through your invite link during the entry period, completes their account and opens the app, additional entries (the number is shown on the card) are added to your name after a 24-hour confirmation window. There is no limit on how many mates you can invite. The person who joins doesn't receive bonus entries. Joining Keen and entering the competition themselves is their own one entry.
One account per person. Entries earned through fake, duplicate or automated accounts, or accounts created only to farm bonus entries, will be disqualified. See Fair play below.
3. The entry period
The competition opens when it appears in the app and closes at the date and time shown on the competition card. Entries and bonus entries can't be earned after closing; anything still inside the 24-hour confirmation window when entries close does not count.
4. The draw
This is a game of chance. The winner is drawn electronically at random from all eligible entries, in Melbourne, on or shortly after the draw date shown on the card. Every entry has an equal chance; holding more entries means holding more chances.
The draw is conducted with an auditable method: a random seed and a fingerprint of the complete entry list are recorded at the time of the draw, so the result can be independently reproduced and verified afterwards.
5. The prize
The prize is described on the competition card. Prizes are as stated: they're not transferable, not exchangeable and not redeemable for cash. If a prize (such as event tickets) becomes unavailable for reasons beyond our control (for example the event is cancelled or rescheduled) we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value, subject to any applicable laws. Anything not expressly stated as included (such as travel to the event) is the winner's responsibility.
6. Winner notification and publication
The winner is notified in the Keen app, including through a Keen plan set up for the prize, and the result is announced in the app to entrants. The announcement identifies the winner by first name and suburb only. If we can't reach the winner in the app, we'll attempt to contact them using the phone number or email on their account.
7. Unclaimed prizes
If a winner doesn't respond within 7 days of being notified, doesn't meet these conditions of entry, or declines the prize, the original draw is voided (with the reason recorded) and a redraw is conducted from the remaining eligible entries using the same method. Any redraw required by a regulator or by law will be conducted in accordance with the applicable requirements.
8. Fair play
We may disqualify any entry, and withhold or reclaim any prize, where we reasonably believe the entrant has breached these terms, Keen's Terms of Service, or has tampered with the entry process, including creating multiple or fake accounts, using another person's identity, or interfering with the app or the draw. Our records of entries are final.
9. Your privacy
Entry information is handled under Keen's Privacy Policy. We use your account details to run the competition, validate entries, notify and announce the winner (first name and suburb only), and deliver the prize. We don't sell entrant information, and competition entry adds no marketing lists you didn't already agree to.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes any right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any loss arising from the competition or the use of a prize, and prizes that involve third-party events or venues are subject to that third party's own terms of entry and conduct.
11. Changes and governing law
If something outside our control means a competition can't run as planned, we may modify, suspend or cancel it, subject to any applicable laws and any regulator's directions. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. These competitions are structured as trade promotions and are intended to comply with the applicable Australian state rules for the cities they run in.
