Child Safety Standards

Keen has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves and our users to, and how we act on them.

Keen is operated under ABN 39 867 349 188, based in Melbourne, Australia ("Keen", "we", "us", "our"). These standards apply to everyone who uses Keen and form part of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Our commitment

We are committed to preventing, detecting and responding to child sexual abuse and exploitation on Keen. CSAE and CSAM are strictly prohibited on our platform, and we support the global effort to keep children safe online. We align our approach with recognised child safety standards, including those set out by Google Play and by Australian and international child protection authorities.

Who can use Keen

Keen is for adults and older teens only. You must be at least 16 years old to use Keen. We collect a date of birth at sign-up and enforce this minimum age in our systems. Accounts that we identify as belonging to someone under 16 are removed. Keen is not directed at, and is not intended for, children.

What is prohibited

The following are strictly forbidden on Keen, and will result in immediate removal of content and accounts, and reporting to the relevant authorities:

child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, including images, video, text, drawings or AI-generated content;
sexualisation of, or sexual conduct involving, a minor;
grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to sexually exploit, abuse or endanger a child;
sharing, requesting, or facilitating access to CSAE or CSAM;
trafficking, or the sextortion or blackmail of a minor;
any other conduct that sexually exploits or endangers a child.

How we prevent and respond

Age requirement. A 16+ minimum age is enforced at sign-up and in our database.
Community standards. Sexually explicit and harmful content, harassment, and impersonation are prohibited under our Terms of Service.
In-app reporting and blocking. Users can block another user and report content or behaviour from within the app. Reports of CSAE are treated as our highest priority.
Action on reports. We review reports promptly, remove violating content, and suspend or permanently ban accounts involved in CSAE.
Reporting to authorities. Where we become aware of CSAE or CSAM, we act to preserve relevant information and report it to the appropriate authorities, including the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE) and, where relevant, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), in accordance with applicable law.

How to report a concern

If you see content or behaviour on Keen that may involve the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child:

In the app: use the block and report options available on user profiles, plans and messages.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first. In Australia you can also report child exploitation to the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation at accce.gov.au/report.

Legal compliance

We handle CSAE in compliance with applicable child safety laws, including Australian law, and we cooperate with law enforcement and recognised child protection bodies. We review these standards as Keen grows and as legal and industry standards evolve, and we will update this page when they change.
