THE HIGH STREET DRIFTERS will be drifting down High Street, Kew, on Sat, 21 November 2026, to perform some jaw dropping contemporary bluegrass at the historic Kew Court House in Melbourne!

The High Street Drifters have carved out a bold space for themselves in the Australian bluegrass music scene. You will usually find this Victorian-based band on festival stages around the country. They are well known for their rich harmonies and breakneck instrumentals.

This fully-loaded five-piece outfit, led by mandolinist Justin Vilchez and vocalist/guitarist Daniel Watkins, will deliver the drive and energy of modern bluegrass, while bringing a fresh and unmistakably Australian voice to the genre. This band brings together some of the country’s finest players, delivering high-energy performances that feel both raw, layered and deeply rooted.

With award-winning releases and national acclaim behind them, their sound captures the grit of the road, the spirit of the bush, and the pulse of modern bluegrass. They won the 2025 AFMA Award for best Debut Album of the Year and two CMAA Golden Guitar nominations for Bluegrass Recording of the Year and Instrumental of the Year.
