About

What is Taiko?

Taiko means “drums” in Japanese. It’s more than just drumming – it’s a dynamic art form that combines rhythm, movement, and spirit. It’s a great workout and a powerful way to make music.

This workshop is designed for everyone, regardless of age or musical background. Whether you’re a complete beginner curious about drumming or just looking for a fun, energetic activity, this is for you.

What you’ll experience in this action-packed hour:

  • Feel the power: Learn to strike the magnificent Taiko drums and feel their incredible vibrations.
  • Basic rhythms: Discover fundamental Japanese drumming techniques and exciting rhythms.
  • Full-body fun: Engage your whole body in a dynamic and surprisingly great workout.
  • Cultural immersion: Get a taste of Japanese culture through this ancient and vibrant art form.
  • Pure enjoyment: Connect with others and create an amazing sound together in a supportive environment.

All drums and drumsticks (bachi) are provided. Just bring your enthusiasm, comfortable clothes, and a water bottle.

No experience is needed – just a willingness to make some music and have a blast.
