The Geelong Potters Group was established in 1976. It seeks to bring aspiring and experienced potters and sculptors together to develop and share in the knowledge and diverse skills, resources, networks, social and wellbeing benefits of working in the medium of clay.
The idea of “pottery” is universally understood. However, many potters also explore the vast world of ceramic sculpture and may also challenge themselves by combining their ceramic forms with other materials. The meaning or concept of an artwork can sometimes be more important than the physical object itself. Hence the title “Small Pieces, BIG IDEAS”.
This exhibition is jointly curated by Andrew Delaney and Jen Stevens, and runs from Thursday Nov 5 at Untether Gallery, Centrepoint Arcade, 5/132 Little Malop St, Geelong.
Gallery opens: Thursday 11am - 6pm, Friday 11am - 4pm, Saturday 11am - 4pm
Official Opening: Saturday Nov 7, 1:30 - 3:30pm.
