A tiny ritual of self-destruction. Smoke Break brings together Zart and Carmonn French for a one-night exhibition at Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern, exploring smoking as a ritual of pleasure, intimacy, rebellion and self-destruction.
Through paintings and small objects, two artists respond to the same familiar act: lighting up, stepping outside, taking a moment. The works explore the tension between comfort and craving, the connections formed over a cigarette, and the private feelings behind a shared habit.
This is the debut of Zart Night, an independent creative series founded and curated by Zart (Amirreza Bandali), bringing art, ideas and people together in Sydney.
Come to look, meet the artists and let a conversation unfold. Explore at your own pace, whether you arrive with friends or on your own. Everyone receives a take-home card created for the night, while a few will leave with a rarer “Zartefact” which is a small artist-made keepsake.
