About

The wattle (Acacia) is the largest group of woody trees in Australia. Western Australia is home to many of them . Your Kings Park Guides will take you on a walk through the Botanic Garden to discover the variety of our remarkable Acacias growing here in the park. They will lead you up to the Acacia Garden and Acacia Steps where the showiest Acacias are on display. You may find one suitable for your garden too!

Date: Thursday, 10 September

Time: 9:30 am sharp. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early.

Meeting Location: Mia Mia in the Botanic Garden Carpark on Forrest Ave, Kings Park.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Length of walk: This walk is up to 1.5 hours in duration and approximately 2 km. The walk ends at the Visitors Information Centre so please consider this when parking.

Difficulty: Moderate degree of difficulty. The walk goes uphill and downhill on grass and on some sandy paths and steps.

Accessibility: This walk is NOT suitable for wheelchairs, prams or mobility aids.

What to wear and bring: Sturdy enclosed walking shoes are recommended. Bring water, sunscreen, hat and water and a raincoat (weather dependent).

Weather: This walk will go ahead if it is raining but in the event of severe weather it may be cancelled. Check the notices section of the Kings Park website for cancellation information.

Parking: Please note that the park is very busy at this time of the year so you will need to allow some time to find a parking spot. Check the Kings Park map for parking areas.
