About

Join the free, warm, welcoming and intimate Customs House readers group.

We meet on the first Friday of each month, for 90 minutes of open discussion in a safe environment.

  • 3 July - Review 'Brooklyn' by Colm Toibon
  • 7 August - Review 'Purple Hibiscus' by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche
  • 4 September - Review 'The Hiding Place' by Kate Mildenhall
  • 2 October - Review 'Stolen' by Ann-Helen Laestadius

NB All books read in the month prior.

This year so far we have read and reviewed: 'Small Things Like These' by Claire Keegan, 'I Want Everything' by Dominic Amerena, which has since been longlisted for the prestigious Miles Franklin Award, Marcus Zusak's celebrated 'The Book Thief' and Neville Shute's classic dystopian novel: 'On the Beach' .
