This creative shadow puppet zine workshop invites participants to explore storytelling, paper craft, and illustration through a unique handmade format. Using paper cut-out techniques inspired by Bria McCarthy’s signature style, participants will create their own interactive shadow puppet zines.
Participants will be encouraged to invent an original story, design characters and scenes, cut out puppet pages, and experiment with layout and composition to bring their zines to life. Combining elements of bookmaking, puppetry, and visual storytelling, the workshop offers a playful and imaginative introduction to creating artworks that can be read, performed, and interacted with.
The session encourages creativity, experimentation, and self-expression, with each participant leaving with their own handcrafted shadow puppet zine to take home.
