About the entire Watercolour Foundation Series:
A 4-part series designed to build your watercolour skills progressively. Each one day workshop stands alone and can be taken in any order.
Workshops are repeated and staggered throughout the year, allowing time between sessions to practise and develop your skills with guidance tailored to your level.
Take your watercolour further in Part 2!
Only a little watercolour experience is needed - if you’ve mixed some paint and put it on paper, you’re ready or have completed Foundations Part 1. Not suitable for complete beginners.
Explore layering, glazing, shadows and lifting out to create form, light and detail in a still life subject. Discover how 2–3 colours can create beautiful neutral tones using complementary colours and how to make convincing shadows.

Watercolour Paints
Artist-grade paints are recommended for their stronger pigments, transparency and vibrancy. However, if you’re new to watercolour, unsure whether you’ll continue, or need a more economical option, student-grade paints are a reasonable starting point. Just be aware that the results may differ and colours will be less intense.
