Make Your Own Soft Pastels Workshop | Perth
Discover the joy of making your very own artist-quality soft pastels from scratch at Shades & Co Studios in Canning Vale, Perth.
In this unique hands-on art workshop with Shannan Nicole Artist, you’ll learn how soft pastels are traditionally made, working with beautiful pigments to mix, blend and create your own collection of colours.
You’ll make a gorgeous set of 16 handmade soft pastels to take home and use in your own artwork.
What you'll learn
During this creative workshop, you’ll learn how to:
• Work with artist pigments safely
• Mix and create beautiful pastel colours
• Understand pigment strength and colour blending
• Create the perfect consistency for soft pastels
• Shape and prepare your own individual pastel sticks
• Make a complete set of 16 colours
No previous art or pastel-making experience is required. This workshop is perfect for artists, pastel lovers and anyone who simply loves experimenting with colour and learning something new.
Your Handmade Pastel Set
Because your pastels are freshly handmade, they need time to dry and cure properly before they can be used.
Your set of 16 soft pastels will remain at Shades & Co Studios for approximately one week to dry, after which they’ll be ready for you to collect and start creating with.
There’s something incredibly satisfying about creating an artwork with materials you've actually made yourself.
