Join us for a relaxed and interactive guided walk through the Electric Spurs reserve to explore the endangered Grassy Woodland vegetation community.
Led by ecological consultant Lincoln Kern from Practical Ecology, this outdoor session will showcase the site's unique plant life while examining the conservation and management challenges facing native grasslands and grassy woodlands.
Who should attend
This event is suitable for anyone interested in nature, conservation, bushland management or learning more about local native plants.
Whether you are a keen gardener, environmental volunteer, nature enthusiast or simply curious about our natural environment, you will gain valuable insights from an experienced ecology professional.
What to expect
Participants will take part in a guided walk through the Electric Spurs site while learning about native grassland and grassy woodland conservation.
Along the way, you will develop practical plant identification skills, learn how to recognise key native species and weeds in the field, and hear insights from Lincoln's more than 30 years of experience in ecological consulting, restoration and land management.
Morning tea will be provided at the conclusion of the walk.
What to bring
This activity involves more than an hour of walking on uneven surfaces.
Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather, including rain protection and sun protection. Bring drinking water.
