Prue Venables showcases her latest solo exhibition at Gallery Sally Dan-Cuthbert
She further explores her ideas of function and the imaginative possibilities of objects, evolving from traditional functional forms to sculptural entities that play with form and space—arriving at a final, deceptive simplicity. Over the past decade, she has honed her silversmithing skills, adding new textures and forms to her work.
“The yielding flexibility of the soft Limoges porcelain is deftly manipulated, the circular body becoming a gently twisted shape with opposing geometry. As the original form vanishes, the vessel becomes a testament to the power of process to absorb exploration, enquiry and risk, culminating in something unflinchingly new.” – Loewe Craft Prize 2023
