Hello! We invite you to attend Solidarity Sounds Kaurna Yarta’s next First Nations-led workshop, run by Tabitha Lean and Nancy Bates. This workshop will be held at the Box Factory in Tarndanya on Sunday 22nd November from 12PM. Tickets are $5-10+, all funds will be going towards paying the presenters. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. We encourage anyone to come to this workshop, whether you are a musician, music lover, industry professional, venue owner, promoter, or are in any other way interested in engaging with the topic. Lunch will be provided!

The workshop, titled “Solidarity Is Something We Do: Mutual Aid, Resistance and Collective Responsibility”, will cover:
From acknowledgement to responsibility: what it means to live and organise on stolen Country, and how support for Aboriginal sovereignty connects with solidarity with Palestine.
Mutual aid as political practice: exploring power, reciprocity and the difference between mutual aid and charity
What musicians can organise: practical support, fundraising and networks that continue between events.
How do we turn our commitments into material support, sustained relationships and collective resistance?
•
We acknowledge that this workshop takes place on the unceded land of the Kaurna people. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
