Introduction
Every year the world's music lovers turn to London's Royal Albert Hall for the Proms: full orchestras, world-class soloists and, on the Last Night, an audience dressed for the occasion.
The Australian Christian Proms takes up that tradition and returns something to it. So much of the great repertoire was written as worship, hymns, oratorios and settings of scripture composed for the glory of God, and over time that context has quietly fallen away. We are putting these sacred classics back where they belong, sung and played as they were written: not as museum pieces, but as praise. Excellence and joy together, with the audience never merely watching.
Étude-Tableau in E-flat minor, Op. 39 No. 5
A dark, towering storm from a composer whose whole life was shaped by his Orthodox faith.
Moonlight Sonata, first movement
You already know this one. You have just never heard it played properly, in a room built for it.
Dan Forrest Hallelu Yah: Psalm 150
Think choirs are quiet and polite? Give us three minutes.
Gustav Holst Jupiter Theme: O God Beyond All Praising
This is the music movie soundtracks have been copying for a hundred years.
Chris Tomlin How Great Is Our God
The song you sing in church, the size it always deserved to be.
René Clausen All That Hath Life and Breath
No instruments. No tricks. Just human voices.
Michael Dooley Suite from The Pilgrim's Progress
Plan it on Keen
Keen is how mates lock in plans: see who’s free, who’s keen, and actually make it happen.
