Oxford Street Gallery is excited to present 'Belonging', a solo exhibition by Perth-based artist, Sandra van Doorn. The opening will be officiated by interior designer Megan Prentice.

This is the first solo exhibition at Oxford Street Gallery, and Sandra's debut exhibition launching her career as a fine artist, after a successful career in publishing and illustration. Sandra has brought a sense of storytelling to canvas, resulting in a whimsical body of work that touches the heart.

About the exhibition:

Belonging is a body of work that explores connection, the meaning of home, and emotional sanctuary. Through intimate scenes the works celebrate the gentle power of human connection and the comfort found in small, shared moments.

Belonging asks: In what ways do we build meaningful connections when traditional structures feel unstable? How do small, everyday rituals — making tea, sitting on a couch, sharing silence — sustain us as powerful acts of unity? Presenting this body of work as a solo exhibition in 2026 is particularly important to me. It represents a significant milestone in my artistic practice, allowing for a deep and cohesive presentation of this new series at a pivotal moment in my journey.
