The Giving Closet is a designer and contemporary fashion sale built around a simple idea: women supporting women. Melbourne women and fashion brands donate beautiful pieces they no longer want/wear, other women snap them up at accessible prices, and the profits support two charities helping women rebuild their lives.
Launching in Prahran this October, The Giving Closet will be packed with donated clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories, with most pieces priced under $150.
Among the extraordinary donations are hundreds of gowns from Australian designer Alex Perry, alongside pieces from a wide range of sought-after contemporary and designer labels. Think Zimmerman, Chanel, Prada, Scanlan and Aje to name a few.
The initiative was founded by Melbourne woman Lana Black, with profits split equally between Hope Network, which provides dignity, hope and purpose for women in and beyond prison, and the Centre for Women’s Economic Safety (CWES), which supports the financial safety of women experiencing economic abuse.
