Designed to introduce you to creating on the pottery wheel and help you really practice your new skills, so you can walk away feeling confident and inspired to create your own handmade ceramic items.
Join us in West Perth, as we transform our workshop space into a pottery studio. Our wheel expert Megan Brandis, will teach you wheel basics and guide you through a series of hands-on sessions sharing her tips and tricks along the way.
This course includes: How to throw clay on the wheel, trimming your items, how to add handles, how to glaze your ceramic items and lots of making time.
Course dates: Wednesday nights from 6pm - 9pm
Session 1: October 14th
Session 2: October 21st
Session 3: October 28th
Session 4 :November 4th
*1 x week break for items to get fired
Session 5: November 18th
What this workshop series includes:
- Week One: Wheel 101 - In this session we will cover the basics of wheel throwing to set you up for the rest of the course
- Week Two: Learn how to trim your clay creations on the wheel & add handles
- Week Three: More making time
- Week Four: More trimming & handles time
- Week Five: Learn how to glaze your items
- Your own bag of clay, use of our studio glazes and firing of all items created during the course
- Tea, Coffee & bickies (BYO food & refreshments welcome)
What you need to bring:
We will provide all materials required for this workshop, you are welcome to BYO an apron or you can use one of our from the studio.
