ALEX LLOYD - UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL

About

Alex Lloyd brings two special stripped-back performances to Brunswick Ballroom, offering audiences a choice of matinee or evening show—and the chance to help shape what unfolds on stage.

Following his 25th anniversary tour, a featured edition of Australian Story and sold-out shows across Australia, Alex is enjoying a remarkable purple patch. Back in the ARIA charts and in fine voice, he’s taking fresh pleasure in sharing his songs, meeting the people who have lived with them and hearing from musicians whose work they’ve helped inspire.

These performances put that connection front and centre. Drawing on Watching Angels Mend and beyond, Alex will combine live music with audience questions, song requests and the stories behind a much-loved catalogue.

This is your chance to take part in the conversation. Ask about the song that has always intrigued you, request the track that soundtracked a particular time in your life, or hear how an idea became a song that connected with people around the country. The audience will help steer each performance, leaving room for different songs, stories and discoveries across the two shows.

The Q&A and in-conversation will be hosted by raconteur Will Ewing, Brunswick Ballroom’s Venue Director, a friend of Alex’s and a massive fan of his work. Their shared history and love of the music will underpin a warm, candid conversation, with no topic or subject off limits.

Heartwarming, eye-opening and personal, these shows offer a chance to hear the music…
