Onam is home. And this September, we're bringing all the festivities and celebrations to Unimelb!

Join the University of Melbourne Malayalee Association for MelbOnam 2026 — our annual celebration of Kerala's most beloved festival, right in the heart of the city.

Whether you grew up counting down to Onam or you've never tasted a Sadhya before, this is a day you don't want to miss.

What's in store:

🌺 Pookalam: help us build a stunning floral rangoli together

🥁 Chandamela: live cultural performances, folk music, and games

😋 Onam Sadhya: a traditional Kerala feast served on banana leaves, the way it's meant to be

👑 Maveli & Vamanan Koda: a dramatic retelling of Onam's legendary story, brought to life on the day

🏆 Games: test your strength in a classic Tug of War, plus traditional Kerala games with real prizes for the winners

🎁 Gifts: because bragging rights aren't enough
