A knowing wink at a modern cliché, and a celebration of the oldest subject in the history of art.
This exhibition brings together outstanding life drawings and paintings by Victorian Artists Society artists, selected from submissions by award-winning and emerging talent alike, each chosen to feature in the 2027 fundraising calendar. Proceeds go directly toward long-overdue studio improvements.
Original artworks are available for purchase alongside the calendar featuring a selection of the gallery's favourites. It’s a show built on an old joke and an older tradition: the body, observed and rendered with genuine skill. Tasteful, timeless, and just a little bit tongue-in-cheek, these works make the case that some things are simply better rendered in paint than in a text message.
