About

Ever pissed yourself in a rural supermarket, or shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die? Join poet and agony aunt Hera Lindsay Bird in-person for a poetry workshop about crafting confessional poems that will embarrass your parents, scandalise your colleagues and plumb the depths (or shallows) of your soul for exploitable content. Bring pen, paper and an appetite for public humiliation.

Hera Lindsay Bird is a writer from Dunedin, New Zealand. Her debut self-titled collection “Hera Lindsay Bird” won the Jessie McKay prize for the best first book of poetry at the Ockham Book Awards and the 2017 Sarah Broom Poetry Prize judged by Carol Ann Duffy. Last year, a selection of her work titled “Juvenilia” came out with US publishers Deep Vellum Press. She is the Spinoff's poetry editor and advice columnist at Help me Hera.
