DETAILS
Traverse a short section of the banksia woodland to learn how plants provided Aboriginal people so much that was essential for life. Find out how the European settlers also quickly found the bush supplied valuable resources to assist them adapt to the harshness of colonial life.
Date: Thursday, 22 October 2026
Start Time: 10:00 am sharp. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early
Meeting Location: Wanju Marr Carpark, Lovekin Drive, Kings Park
Parking: Please note that the Wanju Marr Carpark is reserved for volunteers so please park at Wadjuk or Botanical Gardens carparks and allow time to walk to Wanju Marr. The Kings Park map shows other parking areas.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Duration: Up to 1.5 hours in duration
Distance: Approximately 1.5 km
Difficulty: An easy walk but the majority of the paths are sand.
Accessibility: This walk is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or mobility aids. We encourage you to contact the Visitor Information Centre (9480 3634) if you have any questions.
What to wear and bring: Comfortable enclosed walking shoes are recommended. Bring sunscreen, hat and water and a raincoat (weather dependent).
Weather: This walk will go ahead if it is raining but in the event of severe weather or fire risk it may be cancelled. Check the notices section of the Kings Park website https://www.bgpa.wa.gov.au/notices for cancellation information.
