About

Get your hands dirty and discover the rewarding process of throwing clay. In this directed 4-week course, get a fun introduction to wheel work with our experienced tutors.

Learn correct posture, centring, throwing and turning your vessel, and how to open and finish the form.

This course is for complete beginners with a focus on process and technique rather than production.

  • Small class size: maximum 10 students.
  • Level: designed for beginner level students.
  • Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes (trousers recommended).
  • Bring: please bring your own apron and towel.

All pieces created in the course must be no more than 25 cubic centimetres. Your works will be fired and ready to collect around 4 weeks after the course. We’re unable to fire pieces made outside of the course.

We aim to present inclusive and accessible events. If you have any particular access or communication needs please contact Pine Street Creative Arts Centre on 02 9265 9333 or [email protected]

*The ticket purchaser must hold a valid concession card.

Please note: No class Sunday, 30 August - clay drying week.
