About
This year, the Whittlesea Fire Brigade is celebrating 100 years of service to the community.
The brigade will be hosting a number of activities and initiatives, including a torchlight march through the Church Street shopping precinct in Whittlesea.
Torchlight processions are an important part of CFA’s history and culture. The first torchlight parade was held in 1873, during the earliest public demonstration of Victoria’s fire services, and they have since remained a defining feature of volunteer brigades.
Firefighters will march with traditional lanterns in teams representing their brigade, led by the Victoria Police Pipes and Drums band and CFA vehicles. Judges positioned along the procession route will score each brigade on their marching ability and overall presentation.
Marching will commence at 7pm.
Plan it on Keen
Keen is how mates lock in plans: see who’s free, who’s keen, and actually make it happen.
