About

From the Mouth is a unique film and music project inspired by the landscapes, ecology and stories of the Kororoit Creek mouth.

Bringing together seven local musicians, filmmakers and artists, the project explores the connection between people and place through creative storytelling. Drawing on the natural environment, local histories and community experiences of the Kororoit Creek area, each artist offers a different perspective on this significant waterway and its surrounding landscape.

Across two evenings of live music, short film screenings and community conversation, audiences are invited to experience new creative works that celebrate environmental awareness, cultural connection and the rich character of the local area. Each night will also feature food from the nearby Kolapasi Indian Kitchen.

The event also includes a facilitated discussion with participating artists and a Hobsons Bay City Council conservation officer, offering audiences the opportunity to learn more about the creative process, the ecological significance of the Kororoit Creek mouth, and the role art can play in strengthening our connection to place and community.

Featuring Bart Willoughby, Tina Kopa, Excelsior Maze, Leo Dale, John O’Hagan, Michael Havir and David Murphy.

This project is proudly supported by Hobsons Bay City Council through its Make it Happen Grants program.

Presented as part of Melbourne Fringe Festival 2026. Explore the full program here.
