Spend an afternoon relaxing and releasing your worries through the process of making meaningful objects with clay!
Local ceramicist, Fran Romano, will lead you through a mindful-making meditation exercise, followed by a session making ephemeral clay Reflecting Vessels. Deep winter is a time for quiet and introspection. A time to cleanse and renew. We will hold these vessels as a mirror to ourselves and put our thoughts and worries into them, to be released back into the environment as you are ready.
Spend an afternoon connecting with yourself, relaxing and letting go in the lovely environs of Q Gallery at Ainslie Shops.
All materials, tea, coffee and snacks will be provided. Come along and relax.
WHEN: Saturday August 29th, 3PM - 5PM.
WHERE: Q Gallery, 1/13 Edgar Street, Ainslie Shops.
COST: $85 per person, limited spots available!
About the Artist:
Fran is a ceramic artist and trained social worker who brings a unique perspective to her teaching with a student-centred approach. She feels that the process is just as important as the outcome and aims to make her classes inclusive and friendly.
Fran is a current teacher at the Canberra Potters and in her own practise she explores ideas of decay, remembrance and nostalgia through use of layering and surface decoration and more recently, mixed-media installations. Embracing experimentation and an intuitive making style are an important part of her practice. She has been running this series of Reflective Clay workshops in the community…
Plan it on Keen
Keen is how mates lock in plans: see who’s free, who’s keen, and actually make it happen.
