Ed Tonks OAM is a retired Social Sciences teacher. He has been a member of the Australian Railway Historical Society (ARHS NSW Division) since the 1970s. Since 1991 he has addressed Newcastle and Sydney ARHS meetings on no less than forty-five occasions. He has written seventeen books and calendars dealing with aspects of railway history of the Hunter Region. He has also been acknowledged in many publications for his expertise and/or supply of images.

• There will be uneven ground in some parts of the cemetery with no wheelchair access or direct accessible pathways
