People Watching Portrait Exchange
We’re excited to introduce People Watching, a new experiment by FigJam Drawing Pop up. The idea is simple, we gather in a room, observe one another, and draw. You draw the people around you. They draw you. And should you feel inclined, you might hand over your drawing as a small, imperfect gift.
Have you ever wanted to sit in a cafe or park and draw others but the act of looking feels daunting or you fear you come off as rude? We're curious to explore a space that encourgaes the intimate act of looking. Where we may all become both the atrist and the muse.
What does this really mean?
Well you might see someone across the room, chatting with a friend, and feel inclined to draw them from where you are, no interaction or discussion needed. Or you may decide to sit face to face with someone, friend or stranger, while trying to draw each other simultenuously. We will be offering suggestions through out the event so if youre entirely unsure how you want to people-watch, we're here to guide you!
How does the 'exchange' part work?
At any point in the event, your welcomed to give your drawing to the person you were watching, maybe have a conversation about it, the experience (we'll also provide prompt cards to deepen the conversation around the creative process) . We'll also make space during and at the end for the exchange if you don't feel like initiating this on your own.
This is totally optional, and if you rather keep all your drawings a secret just…
Plan it on Keen
Keen is how mates lock in plans: see who’s free, who’s keen, and actually make it happen.
