Artistic freedom through creativity, turning everyday scraps into art inspired by artists who create despite restrictions on their freedom of expression.
Join local artist and Amnesty Vision Action Group volunteer, Reynaldo Alcocer, where he shares a story about how an artist’s desire to create and shed light on subject matters are not always protected in many parts of the world and can even be punished for it. You will learn this story, discuss and using any creative skill you have will create your own works from scraps to show your creativity with what you have just like the struggling artists who don’t always have freedom of artistic expression. The final artwork you create will be displayed at the Artists for Rights Exhibition in October at the Robina Community Art Gallery.
Free to join but RSVP required.
