Printmaking for beginners: 8-week course

About

Working with aluminium plates, you'll learn how to prepare plates, develop imagery, and create a series of beautifully detailed hand-printed works. Discover a range of intaglio techniques, including line etching, sugar lift, and soap ground, while building confidence in the printmaking process from design through to printing.

All materials are provided, and you'll produce a collection of original prints throughout the course. No prior experience is required, making this an ideal introduction for beginners, while experienced printmakers will enjoy the opportunity to refine and expand their practice.

• Time: 10am-1:30pm, eight consecutive Fridays beginning October 16th.
• Dates: 16th October, 23rd October, 30th October, 6th November, 13th November, 20th November, 27th November, 4th December.
• Where: MAC yapang
• Cost: $350 + booking fee for 8-week course, Lake Mac Arts Member: $315 + booking fee.
• All materials provided. Please bring pre-developed ideas for your print (drawings, compositions, etc), enclosed shoes, apron, and snacks/lunch.

MAC yapang (Museum of Art and Culture, yapang) is located in Booragul on the shores of Lake Macquarie.

The venue offers step-free access, accessible amenities, accessible parking and public spaces designed for ease of movement.

Parking is available for cars and buses, and MAC yapang can be easily reached by car, public transport, bicycle or water.
A wheelchair and quiet seating within the exhibition spaces are available on request.
