About
A seminal force in 21st century jazz, The Bad Plus make their final Australian appearance this October at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
For more than two decades, The Bad Plus have proven themselves to be the ultimate originals. They have won critical acclaim and a legion of fans worldwide through their distinctive sound and thrilling live performances. Their now-legendary 2003 LP, These Are the Vistas, was named one of the 50 Most Important Recordings of the Decade by NPR’s All Songs Considered.
In recent years, The Bad Plus have reinvented themselves in a way few could have anticipated, evolving into a boundary defying quartet. Founding members Reid Anderson (bass) and Dave King (drums) are joined by Ben Monder (guitar) and Chris Speed (tenor saxophone), presenting a new incarnation of the band while maintaining its vital and unmistakable identity.
