Your Topic:

When Excellence Becomes the Problem: The Science Behind Human Breakthroughs

We celebrate excellence, grit and perseverance. Yet many high performers eventually reach a point where working harder no longer produces better outcomes. What happens then?

Drawing on neuroscience, psychology, executive leadership, ultra-endurance sport and personal experience representing Australia at the 24-Hour World Championships, this talk explores why people plateau, how pressure changes perception, and what enables genuine breakthroughs in performance and leadership.

Rather than offering self-help or motivational advice, the session examines the science and psychology behind transformational change and invites the audience to rethink some of our deepest assumptions about success, resilience and human potential.

Professor Richelle Mychasiuk
