Join us for the 13th Understory Film Festival Screening & Awards Presentation, the flagship event of the 2026 program and Far North Queensland’s premier celebration of regional short filmmaking.
Held at the iconic Tanks Arts Centre, the evening showcases the 2026 Finalist Shortlist, featuring outstanding short films from across Far North Queensland, including Cairns, Townsville, Cape York, the Gulf of Carpentaria and the Torres Strait Islands.
From documentaries and dramas to animation, comedy, experimental works and music videos, the program highlights the creativity, diversity and unique stories of our region.
Following the screening, audiences will enjoy a live awards presentation recognising excellence in regional screen storytelling.
