THIS MONTH'S THEME IS CWA.

For September you can cook or bake anything from a CWA book or online recipe. Yes - this means it is a sweet or savoury option! The CWA is the Country Women's Association, an influencial group in Australian cooking and baking. We've timed this to fit in with the Royal Show (seems fitting!) and pay honour to the legends at the CWA for their tried and true recipes.

We also have a little surprise in store for the evening!

Bake absolutely any recipe that fits the theme!

The idea is simple:

- We meet on the first Thursday night of each month

- There is a theme set each month such as slices, cupcakes, a recipe book, a colour etc.

- You bake/make/create a dessert that fits the theme. It does not need to be an actual cake, but it needs to be a sweet.

- Bring your dessert to Cake Lovers Club. Here we’ll share the dessert and you’ll tell us what inspired you to make it.

- We’re not really going to get technical about baking. This is for home bakers. Professional cake makers are very welcome, but I ask you to leave your professional hat at the door and come purely as a cake lover and chance to bake something new, with no pressure for it to be perfect.

- we’ll eat cake, we’ll chat about the theme, we can swap recipes if you want to share.

- You take home leftovers. So if there is one dessert you love to death, take a slice. Didn’t get to try them all? Take a slice. Please bring a container!

There is bsolutely no requirement for your dessert to be of professional standard.…
