About

Join historian and oral history facilitator Christian Teusner from The EMU Tree – Education and Music in Unison for a special guided walk through The Way We Were, a moving photographic and oral history exhibition that honours the service and sacrifice of Australian veterans and their families.

This engaging guided tour will explore the stories behind the exhibition, sharing insights into the lives of veterans, their partners, and war widows whose experiences have been documented as part of a statewide South Australian oral history project. Through photographs, personal recollections, and historical interpretation, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the courage, resilience, and community contributions of those who served and supported Australia's defence forces.

Presented in recognition of Remembrance Day, this walk offers an opportunity to reflect on the personal stories that shape our collective history and ensure these important memories are preserved for future generations.
