Follow Your Organic Waste 2026 – Tour Veolia’s Facility

About

Join us on 12 November, from 10am to 1pm, for a behind-the-scenes tour of Veolia's Organics Processing Facility and discover what happens to the food scraps and garden clippings you place in your green-lid FOGO bin.

By using your FOGO bin correctly, you help keep organic waste out of landfill. Instead, it is processed into nutrient-rich compost that supports healthy soils and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Thanks to Darebin residents correctly using their FOGO bins, around 40,000 tonnes of organic material have been diverted from landfill since 2024. This material has been processed at Veolia's Organics Processing Facility and transformed into compost.

On this tour, you'll have the opportunity to:

see how FOGO is processed into compost

experience the facility in operation

ask questions and hear from industry experts.
