Come for a unique visit at Sydney Heritage Fleet, Heritage Shipyard where you will find skilled work being carried out by our volunteers in restoring heritage vessels.
The tour will include insight into the restoration work that is currently being completed on SS John Oxley and a chance to see other historic vessels previously restored and now operated by the Fleet, plus the impressive workshop and restoration facilities that have made The Fleet renowned as a ship restorer throughout the world.
Participants must be over 18, fit enough to climb steep stairs and confidently walk on uneven surfaces. We will provide basic PPE items: hard hats and Hi Vis vests for participants. Flat-soled covered footwear must be worn, while bringing a light windproof jacket and sun/rain wear is recommended.
Tour will start and finish at the Sydney Heritage Fleet's Shipyard at Gate 4, James Craig Road, Rozelle. Your guide will welcome you at the shipyard gate before escorting you to the volunteers mess for a cuppa and a chocolate biscuit while learning about our heritage vessels and fascinating stories.
