This free intergenerational playgroup brings together young children, parents, grandparents and carers for a morning of stories, music, creativity and connection at Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub.
Participants can enjoy a library story time, live entertainment with children's performer Alicia O'Brien, arts and crafts activities, sensory play experiences facilitated by our Maternal and Child Health Team, and a complimentary morning tea.
The event provides a welcoming space for people of different ages to spend quality time together while building community connections.
Why it is important
Intergenerational activities provide valuable opportunities for children and older adults to connect, learn from one another and strengthen community bonds.
This event encourages social connection, supports early childhood development through play-based learning, and creates opportunities for families and carers to engage with local services and community networks.
By bringing different generations together through shared experiences, the event fosters a sense of belonging and promotes positive wellbeing outcomes for participants of all ages.
