Event Info + Purchase Ticketseventbrite.com.auAbout
Join Big Heart Adventures as we explore a section of the Pioneer Women’s Trail through the Adelaide Hills!
Note this event is a guided walking tour and not affiliated in any way with the National History Trust event offered in May.
The cost of this walk is $70pp (plus Eventbrite booking fee) which includes bus transport and a delicious freshly baked afternoon tea.
The Pioneer Women’s Trail follows the journey of early settlers (in particular, women and girls) who regularly carried fruit and other supplies from Hahndorf to the city.
We respectfully acknowledge that our adventure traverses on Kaurna Land.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The bus will drop us off at Verdun, where we will then walk approximately 22km back to Beaumont along the Pioneer Women’s Trail. Allow 6 to 7 hours for this walk.
We will enjoy a mix of country roads and bush trails as we walk from Verdun through Bridgewater, parts of Cox Creek, Mt George Conservation Park, Stirling, Crafers, Cleland Conservation Park and finally back to our cars at Beaumont.
Expect some gradual climbs and descents on this walk. A few sections may be slippery underfoot. Hiking poles are recommended.
As a guide we rate this walk as Moderate, but this rating will vary for each individual based on current level of fitness and experience.
BUS MEET SPOT
Meet at 8.15am for an 8.30am bus departure.
Note we may offer 2 departures 8am and 9am if group size requires this. This will be confirmed 48 hours before the walk.
Plan it on Keen
Keen is how mates lock in plans: see who’s free, who’s keen, and actually make it happen.
