Ever wanted to try stand-up comedy, sharpen your material, or take your performance to the next level?

This workshop will explore the fundamentals of comedy, developing ideas and material, finding your comedic voice, and bringing your jokes to life on stage. Whether you’ve never stepped on stage before or you’ve been performing for years, Sam will share practical tools and insights from his experience writing and performing stand-up since 2018.

Sam has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival and Adelaide Fringe, as well as venues and shows including the Comedy Store, Standout, Crips & Creeps and Are You Havin' a Laugh?! He has also taught stand-up through Sydney Theatre Company and the City of Sydney.

Sam Wade is an autistic Sydney based stand up comedian and content creator. He has toured nationally as part of Are You Pulling My Leg, Australia’s first accessibility-focused comedy roadshow, and was nominated for Best Comedy at the 2024 Sydney Fringe. Beyond stand-up, Sam has guest-starred and script-consulted for the hit D&D-based web series 1 For All, which has built a cult following among its million-plus audience, and featured in the Australian Disability Network’s Not Hard to Be Inclusive campaign.
