Join entomologist Dr Joshua Grubb for an evening of discovery and learn about the fascinating invertebrates that call the sanctuary home.

Discover the important roles insects and other invertebrates play in local ecosystems before heading outdoors to observe species in their natural environment using light traps.

This event is suitable for anyone interested in wildlife, biodiversity, citizen science or the natural environment. It is ideal for families, nature enthusiasts, budding naturalists and anyone curious about the incredible diversity of invertebrate life.

What to expect

The evening will begin with an engaging presentation exploring the invertebrates found within the sanctuary and their role in the environment.

Participants will then head outdoors to view species attracted to light traps and learn how scientists observe and record biodiversity.

Attendees are encouraged to document their observations and contribute sightings to the Great Southern BioBlitz using iNaturalist.
