Join City of Gold Coast Animal Management for a free community dog walk featuring practical pet education tips from experienced trained animal professionals.

Walk With Me provides practical pet education to build confidence and strengthen the bond between owners and their pets. The program also promotes positive socialisation and improved understanding of canine body language to help reduce dog attacks in the community.

The walk begins with a short introductory briefing, followed by a short, leisurely on leash group walk. While the pace is gentle, participants should have a reasonable level of mobility and be able to comfortably manage their dog on lead throughout the walk.

This relaxed community walk is a great opportunity to meet other local dog owners while learning practical pet education tips, including:

• Loose lead walking and lead reactivity
• Understanding dog body language and behaviour
• Socialisation skills
• Off leash area etiquette and laws of play
• What is effective control and recall
• Responsible pet ownership
• Free goodie bags for each family
• Q&A with a professional dog trainer.

The session finishes with a brief Q&A session plus helpful educational information to take home.

To participate, your dog must be:

• on a leash when you arrive
• fully vaccinated and in good health with up-to-date flea/worm treatment (within 3 weeks of the walk).
