Join Angela for this four-hour sewing workshop designed to help you build confidence using a sewing machine and develop practical sewing skills.

12:00pm to 1:00pm - Sewing Machine Basics

In this introductory session, participants will learn:

• The various parts of a sewing machine and what they do
• How to set up a sewing machine and prepare the threads ready for sewing
• The uses of different machine feet and accessories
• Basic machine operation and sewing techniques

1:30pm to 4:00pm - Practical Sewing Session

Put your new skills into practice by working on your own mending, alteration or upcycling projects. Angela will provide guidance and support throughout the session to help you achieve the best possible results.

We Will Provide

• Sewing machines
• Sewing accessories and equipment

Please Bring

• Up to four garments or textile items to mend, alter or repair
• Your own sewing machine (optional), if you would prefer to learn on the machine you use at home

Important Information

Please note that what you can achieve during the practical session will depend on your existing sewing skills, the complexity of your project and the condition of the items you bring. If you are new to sewing, please come along with realistic expectations of what can be completed during the workshop.

As participants will be using electric sewing machines, this workshop is suitable for ages 16 years and over unless attneding with a parent or guardian. light refreshments will be available.
