About

Join us for Charlie's Loop, a 34km community run through Melbourne on Saturday 12 September, raising funds and awareness for youth mental health.

This isn't about finishing first—it's about showing up. Together we'll run, remember Charlie, support one another, and help create better access to mental health support for young Australians.

Whether you're tackling the full 34km, taking on the optional 100km challenge beforehand, or simply coming along to support the community, you're part of something that matters.

The Story Behind PAIN

PAIN was created by Smls founder Danny Allan after losing his best friend Charlie to suicide in his late teens.

The movement exists to raise awareness and funding for the youth mental health crisis, particularly among one of Australia's most vulnerable groups—16 to 18-year-olds—who often struggle to access support when they need it most.

What began as one person's challenge has grown into a global movement. Since 2023, PAIN has raised more than $45,000 to support youth mental health initiatives.

For the third consecutive year, the Melbourne event is proudly raising funds for the Black Dog Institute, supporting their work in research, education and improving mental health outcomes across Australia.
