About

Jazz Upstairs is proud to present Hill/Hall/Raymond.

Gabriella Hill (tenor saxophone), Henry Hall (double bass), and Daniel Raymond (drums) are a trio.

Their interest as an ensemble lies at the intersection of composition for chordless instrumentation and free improvisation. The use of repetitive harmonic and rhythmic cycles are contrasted with fluctuating and sporadic improvisation, which can open the music to new possibilities unbound by composition alone.

The trio has performed across Gadigal/Sydney and in Naarm/Melbourne to expand the collaboration having played with Abi Lee (Naarm/New York) on piano, Lawrence Folvig (Naarm) on baritone guitar, and key member Louis Wishart (Gadigal/Sydney) on trumpet.

This is sure to be a stimulating night of music!

  • Doors open at 5:45pm. Gig starts at 6pm.
  • Snacks and beverages are included with entry.
