The popular ‘Looking at Architecture’ program returns this spring.

Join us for a unique glimpse into the history and heritage of the Blue Mountains, with visits to a curated selection of significant properties across Faulconbridge, Leura, Linden, Springwood and Woodford.

This self-drive weekend will provide National Trust members and friends with the opportunity to discover the villages that developed along the road to the west and view many architecturally significant homes and gardens.

Highlights:

• View homes of architectural significance that range from a historic 1919 weatherboard cottage to the home and studio of noted contemporary artists
• View an award-winning energy-efficient house of corrugated iron and glass, featured recently in the New York Times, that showcases the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains as you gaze through floor to ceiling windows
• For horticulture lovers, the six-acre garden of a federation stone bungalow built by a former Premier of NSW is a must see, along with a visit to a California-style Mediterranean garden featuring landscape succulents that are both sculptural and drought tolerant
• For the young at heart, delight in a visit to an innovative mudbrick home and whimsical cottage-style garden featuring a giant mouse teapot
