HYPHEN

Emerging from the underground with something to prove, HYPHEN is part of a growing movement of genre-defiant bands reshaping what alternative music, pop and rock can sound like in 2026. For fans of Fontaines D.C., Wolf Alice, Wunderhorse, Inhaler, and Sam Fender, their sound is familiar—but twisted into something uniquely their own. Blending raw emotion and widescreen dream-like dissonance, they are carving out their place in the next wave of Australian music.

HYPHEN has sold out venues like The Junk Bar, and recently Tomcat for their latest Single Launch. HYPHEN has been picked as one of the 2026 QUBE Effect finalists, with over 70 applicants; they were selected as part of the top 12. Their most recent single,

“PRETTY STRANGER”

produced by Cody McWaters was recorded at Hunting Ground Studios late last year, with this release representing their headed sonic direction, mixing atmospheric synths with heavy guitars and bold harmonies.
