About

Discover the timeless beauty of Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging, in this immersive and inspiring one-day Ikebana workshop

Guided by one of Australia's most experienced and certified Ohara School Ikebana instructors, you'll explore a creative practice that combines artistry, mindfulness, and a deep appreciation of nature.

Unlike traditional Western flower arranging, Ikebana focuses on the relationship between each flower, branch, leaf and the surrounding space. Rather than creating abundant displays, you'll discover how line, balance, rhythm, proportion and negative space work together to create arrangements that are both visually striking and deeply expressive.

Working with carefully selected seasonal flowers and foliage, you'll explore why Ikebana has been practised for centuries as both an artistic discipline and a mindful creative practice. Whether you're passionate about flowers, Japanese culture, interior styling or simply looking for a relaxing and rewarding creative experience, this workshop offers a welcoming introduction to one of Japan's most enduring art forms.

During the workshop, participants will work with techniques and ideas such as:
