Backsliders are an award-winning Australian band that have a 40-year history of recording and touring the music festival circuit. Their riff-based sound blends rural American blues with distinctly Australian lyrical and musical themes.

At the heart of the band is three-time Sydney Blues Society Traditional Blues Artist of the Year recipient Dom Turner – a celebrated guitarist, vocalist and founding member whose career has taken him from stages across Australia to international collaborations with some of the world’s most respected blues artists, including Phil Wiggins, RL Boyce, Sunpie Barnes and Kenny Brown. In 2024, Dom was invited to share the stage with both Tedeschi Trucks Band and The Allman Betts Family Band.

Joining Dom is Joe Glover, one of Australia’s most inventive harmonica and banjo players, alongside two legendary Australian drummers – Rosscoe Clark and Hamish Stuart – honouring the powerful double-drum tradition made famous by bands like The Allman Brothers and Tedeschi Trucks Band.

This is a formidable lineup bringing together decades of Australian music history, world-class musicianship and a deep love of the blues.
